Meat Slicer Operational Instructions & Safety Procedures
As part of a Duty of Care to your staff and yourself, it is important that anyone using a meat slicer in the workplace is competent in the use of and the everyday care and maintenance of your meat slicer.
To help you and your staff with this important requirement, Perth Scale & Slicer have provided a number of generic instructions in PDF form free to download from the DOWNLOAD section of this page outlaying safe working guides on the use of the slicer, the sharpening of the slicer and cleaning of the meat slicer. This has become a requirement for OH&S and they expect the business owner to have these sort of instructional guidelines to be visible on the wall next to your meat slicer.
The procedures for the use of all meat slicers are similar, but some meat slicers have sharpeners fitted to the slicer and some come separately.
Look at the different PDF’s to see which one best matches your meat slicer. Print of the PDF, have it laminated and keep if on display on the wall close to where the meat slicer is used.
To determine which of the attached PDF'S matches your meat slicer, follow the following steps.
If your meat slicer has a fitted sharpener and it releases with a threaded bolt at the back of the sharpener post to turn it into position to sharpen, download Slicer Instructions 1
If your meat slicer has a fitted sharpener and it has to be lifted up and turned into position to sharpen, download Slicer Instructions 2
If your meat slicer has a separate sharpener, download Slicer Instructions 3
